Chapter 2 Questions


Chapter 2:

1. What is the story of the two "unfortunate fellows"?

2. What does Chris see through his binoculars?  How is Chris different from other people?

3. Who is Sandy McSouthers?

4. In chapter 2, it describes someone as "stocky."  What does that mean and who was described that way?

5. What page do you find the word "maggots?"  What are they?  Where would you find them?

6. What page do you find the word "asylum?"  What does it mean?  Who would be there?

7. Imagine what Sunset Towers looks like.  Draw a picture based on what the book said and your own imagination.  Would you ever live there?  Why or why not?

  3. 5. The word maggot is on the seventh page. Maggots are fly larvae or young lings. You can find them on rotting meat, fruits, vegetables, etc.

  6. #1 two kids went in the westing house because a friend bet them a dollar they wouldn't do it. One tiny, unimportant dollar! So they went in, and no one knows what they saw in there, but they knew the outcome. They both ran back out the door about five seconds after they got in. One ran straight off the cliff, and the other one is stuck in the insane asylum muttering purple waves over and over agian. purple waves, purple waves, purple waves.

  9. The story about the "2 unfortunate fellows" is about friends that got bet a dollar to go in the Westing house for 5 minutes but when they ran out, they were so scared that on of them ran off a cliff and the other hasn't said other than 2 words since that night. purple waves.
